Wow, I am really behind with the journal. Sorry…
I really liked the idea Carolyn had about introducing the Bee-Bot to the students during the open house! I did not see too many partents and students during our open house sessions, but I plan to intorduce the Bee-Bots to my kindergarten and first grade students next week. I will divide them into five groups so each group can learn about use the Bee-Bot at least once. We are studying lines so I am thinking of making a chart with line designs and patterns. Students will use flash cards and then move the bot to the matching line design or pattern. I am open to suggestions and advice about this activity!!
I hope everyone is having a good start to their school year.

I introduced Bee Bot to my third grade and second grade students! It was great!! They loved it and jumped right in learning how to use it. They worked in five groups at their tables having the bot travel to each person in the group being very careful to make sure it did not fall off the table. It was fun to watch--every student was on task and very intereted and the bot's activity. I am introducing them to two of my kindergarten classes tomorrow afternoon. I asked the classes today how they would feel about spending some time working with the bot's and with roamer and they jumped out their skin with excitement!!
